Gabrielle Adcock (born Gabrielle White on September 30, 1990) is a renowned English female badminton player specializing in doubles, with mixed doubles being her most prominent discipline. After marrying Chris Adcock, she adopted his surname. The pair achieved a career-high world ranking of fourth. In 2021, Gabrielle and Chris announced their retirement.
In March 2007, Gabrielle White represented England at the European Junior Badminton Championships in Völklingen, Saarland, Germany. The English team won gold in the team event, and she secured a bronze in women’s doubles with her junior partner Mariana Agathangelou. That October, she competed at the World Junior Championships in Auckland, New Zealand, earning a silver medal in mixed doubles with Chris Adcock. In March 2011, Gabrielle partnered with Robert Blair at the German Open Grand Prix Gold, defeating Japan’s Shinichi Akeda and Reiko Shiota 2-1 (16-21, 21-16, 21-15) in the mixed doubles final to claim the title. In November 2013, Gabrielle and Chris Adcock competed at the Hong Kong Super Series, where they beat a Chinese pair in the mixed doubles final to win their first Super Series title. In July 2014, Gabrielle White represented England at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. The English team won silver in the team event, and she captured her first Commonwealth gold in mixed doubles by defeating teammates Chris Langridge and Heather Oliver 2-0 (21-9, 21-12). In December 2015, Gabrielle and Chris Adcock participated in the BWF Super Series Finals. They topped their group, defeated Indonesia’s Praveen Jordan and Debby Susanto 2-0 (21-17, 22-20) in the semifinals, and then beat South Korea’s Ko Sung-hyun and Kim Ha-na 2-0 (21-14, 21-17) in the final, becoming the first English pair to win the year-end finals. In April 2017, Gabrielle White represented England at the European Championships in Kolding, Denmark.
