Guy A. Sautter (1986 – 29 October 1961) was a Swiss badminton and tennis player. Born in Switzerland, he passed away in Downton St Andrew, Wiltshire, England.
Guy A. Sautter was one of the most prominent badminton players of the 1910s. To date, he remains the only Swiss player to have won titles at the prestigious All England Badminton Championships. However, he also represented Great Britain in international competitions. In total, he secured three singles titles at the All England (1911, 1913-1914), two mixed doubles titles (1910 with Dorothy Cundell, 1913 with M. E. Mayston), and one men’s doubles title (1922 with Frank Devlin). Additionally, he won four French Open titles (three in men’s doubles and one in mixed doubles), two Scottish Open titles (one in men’s doubles and one in mixed doubles), and seven Irish Open titles (two in men’s singles, three in men’s doubles, and two in mixed doubles). Sautter also organized events under the pseudonym ‘U.N. Lapin’, which translates from French as ‘from the rabbit’.
