Marcus Ellis is an English male badminton player specializing in doubles events.
In March 2007, Marcus Ellis represented England at the European Junior Badminton Championships in Völklingen, Saarland, Germany, helping the English team win the mixed team gold medal. In September 2009, partnering Heather Oliver at the Belgium International, Ellis claimed his first international title by defeating the second-seeded Belgian pair Wouter Claes/Nathalie Descamps 2-0 (21-9, 25-23) in the mixed doubles final. In 2012, Ellis and Gabrielle White reached the mixed doubles final at the Dutch Open, securing the runner-up position. At the 2013 BWF World Championships in Guangzhou, China, Ellis and Paul van Rietvelde advanced to the second round in men’s doubles before losing to 10th-seeded Indonesians Angga Pratama/Rian Agung Saputro 0-2 (8-21, 11-21). Ellis won an Olympic bronze medal in men’s doubles with Chris Langridge at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
